Snake in the grass of...

Hiphop is an artistic commitment to seize freedom from oppressive social conditions. This artistic commitment inherent in Hiphop culture expresses a reality of human transcendence which was originally born out of the creative impulse and cultural improvisation of the oppressed African American, Afro-Caribbean and Latino American communities...(wiki)
But through the years as money arrived in this kulture the snakes arrived as well. Like the fat rats in the political world who are only here for "self" to fill their pockets with their love for greed. The only people that suffer are the other 99%... (That is half the reason why Hiphop is in the state it is in right now!) ...and Hiphop IS suffering... and it has for years.
I have seen over the past decade plus people taken for money, time & energy either because they were ignorant to the facts or because the person taking them was just that damn good at scamming. PEOPLE RESEARCH, READ, GET REFERRALS!! These new artists coming up don't take the time to learn their business and how things work.
But what really gets my heart is these people that are in positions for some reason or another who take advantage of those trying to get ahead. The people aka snakes who feed on this kulture instead of giving back to it. They fuck their way, suck their way, scam, scheme, lie & cut to get what? A dollar!
Word of mouth is thee best for of advertising and it can build you or it can break you. If you not asking around and learning about who your dealing with on whatever level of business you are on then shame on you BUT I have NO MERCY for those that know what their doing and continue to do it. And you will get found out, you are getting found out becuase the truth always comes to the light. Perfect example if you have made any $money$ from this life called Hiphop and you haven't given back in some way shape are form to this community then you need to be jailed and or sat down and taught a really good lesson(brassknuckles).
Teach our kids to carry this kulture. Show people how to make that next move without charging them an arm and leg. Give to the Fathers of Hiphop. Whens the last time anyone did anything for DJ Kool Herc or Bambaataa? I think Amerika is such a hypocrital place where we dont take care of our assets, elders & our 'selves'. No Respect!

Just because they have a title, business or a level of certain success doesn't make them a good person. They are wolves in sheeps clothing, white, black, brown so never assume. These snakes in the grass can be hard to see and some are better then others but it is VITAL to learn how to spot them. So sometimes you have to sit still and observe. Watch how people move, look who they work with, look who they look out for, watch what they say in comparison to how they act... WATCH! You see em? I see em!!

Missy Boo!!!
I agree 100% cat's are snakes in the grass and NOT just in the Hip-Hop world but in urban music and in business as well. That's because most of us are still suffering from the "Willie Lynch Syndrome"
see -http://www.finalcall.com/artman/publish/Perspectives_1/Willie_Lynch_letter_The_Making_of_a_Slave.shtml
It's imperative that we learn about the history and culture in urban music so that these mistakes don't repeat themselves. What's is wrong with the game is that "HISTORY" or "REALNESS" are NO longer important! (WDF) How in the hells are we endorsing lies yet combating the real? What do I mean by this" Ok, how is it that we already know most of these cats speaking on that Ra-Ra are NOT living the lives they portray in videos yet we still support them. Secondly why is it that most of us are NO longer using common sense? or example we have witness someone who has been scam personally and also seen TV shows who scam young artists who want stardom or how many times have YOU attended conferences yet received nadda! But what's funny is we STILL continue to jump threw hoops to attend and support cats who have been self absorbed for years!
Where was I at when this memo was passed? (See www.coolvsratednext.com search -What Ever Happened To Loyalty) This article co-signs what my girl just wrote. People don't give up a change is about to come there is "HOPE"! There are a NEW breed of cats in Hip-Hop and in the music industry that's tired of dealing with cats thats side-ways and who can't be bought. Let's try learning respect for the music, for the culture, for each other hell for ..."LIFE" That's the problem with this generation and the music reflects it WE-NO-LONGER-CARE! If we where to put in 1/4 the effort in building as we do destroying we would go far! Sadly It's been this ignorant trend in our urban culture that I despise that perpetuates these acts of dumbness case and point: How many times in your city does a HOT club end up having to be shut down because of one or two bad apples who went there to resolve their differences and someone ended up killed and the club shut down. WHO SUFFERS? "EVERYONE" BECAUSE THE CLUB SHUTS DOWN.
It's workers are now unemployed and you no longer have a outlet.
Then these same niglets complain that they have no place to go!(WDF)it's LIKE MY GIRL MISSY B SAYS "LETS STOP THE IGNORANCE!" WE CAN START BY "STOP FEEDING THESE FAT ASS SNAKES IN THE GRASS" MISSY - I SALUTE YOU BOO! "KEEP GOING!" * Blows The Whistle*
